Gamay Noir – she’s like Pinot Noir’s little sister. Traditionally French (there she goes by the name of Beaujolais) but you’ll find a few sneaky plantings of it here in Aotearoa, like at Hawke’s Bay’s Te Mata Estate. A fun, fruit bomb of a red that should never to be taken too seriously!
Refreshingly light, juicy, easy drinking and goes hand in hand with a stinking hot summer’s day. Bursting with candy-like cherry and raspberry flavours – why even bother waiting for summer to roll around again?
Here’s a little tip – drink it within two years, serve it lightly chilled and bust it out with spicy cuisine!
