Taylors Estate Merlot

Think Clare Valley and the name Taylors will roll off the tongue. In fact think top Aussie red producers and the name Taylors will pop up. It’s why they’re a member of the Australia’s First Families of Wine, the 12 founding family owned wineries across the ditch, and why for as long as we can remember this has been one of the most reliable, bang for your buck labels.

We reckon Taylors must be a little bonkers putting quality Merlot under such a moderately priced label. They win an insane number of Gold medals around the globe every vintage – and this latest 2021 release is an absolute beauty for the money.

It took out the Trophy for Champion Merlot at the NZ International Wine Show 2022 beating some big name producers like Church Road, Villa Maria and Trinity Hill. Not bad for an Aussie Merlot! The judges said “Medium to full bodied, this wine is not to be underestimated. Laden with dark berry fruits and plush black Doris plum with a hint of mocha. Super smooth and soft with velvety tannins. Great value drinking every time, every day.”

Medium bodied red full of ripe, juicy berry fruits and soft, velvety tannins. Highly drinkable stuff.
