Anthony Joseph Vidal was just 22 years young when he jumped off the ship from Spain way back in 1888. After purchasing a small section in Hawke’s Bay in 1905 he converted the stables that occupied the land into a wine cellar and hey presto – Vidal Estate was born!
We’ve knocked back a few decent Hawke’s Bay Chardonnays in our time and, for the money, this label rarely fails to deliver. As wine critic Michael Cooper calls it – “This middle-tier label is a consistently good buy.” A bright, fresh style with plenty of toasty, citrusy, peachy flavours.
Honestly, if you’re a Chardonnay lover why are you still reading this far down? Chuck a case in the cart now and pair with seafood, chicken or your favourite seasonal salads.
Damn, you're looking young for your age!
