A legend of the Hawke’s Bay wine scene. Trinity Hill were one of the pioneers in the Gimblett Gravels region back in 1993 seeing real potential for world class wine, especially Chardonnay, Syrah and Bordeaux blends.
This is their super popular ‘The Trinity’ label – a Bordeaux red blend mainly of Merlot and Cabernet Franc with a splash of Cabernet Sauvignon and Petit Verdot in there too. From a top 2021 vintage it’s already received solid scores from two of NZ’s best known critics…
90/100 (Bob Campbell MW, The Real Review)
“A blend of merlot, cabernet franc, cabernet sauvignon and petit verdot from a very favourable vintage. Ripe berry, plum, red rose, floral and a hint of fresh herbs. A lively wine that offers good drinking now but no rush. Good value at this price ($25)”
4 Stars (Michael Cooper)
“Deeply coloured, it is fragrant, mouthfilling and supple, with strong blackcurrant, plum and spice flavours”
A great red blend for Mum’s best Sunday roast with lamb or beef. Drink now but as Bob says, there’s no rush and you could comfortably cellar this for 5-6 years from vintage.
