Tohu (pronounced tor-who) are Aotearoa’s first Maori owned wine company. This is their sparkling range called Rewa, named after the native honeysuckle tree the rewarewa.
Made in the same way as Champagne (called Methode Traditionelle) using 100% Chardonnay grapes (called Blanc de Blancs) from a single vintage (2016). It’s aged 27 months on lees, a winemaking technique to add richness and texture, and all packaged behind a pretty slick looking label. This is the ‘biz!
We reckon this is some seriously high class New Zealand fizz. A crisp, dry style bubbles served best nicely chilled with fresh kai moana!
Damn, you're looking young for your age!
