Small fossils, big possibilities. When digging their first dam the Taylors family came across some tiny fossilised seahorses. Aww cute. But wait, there’s more!

Remembering everything they learnt in Viticulture 101 – where there are tiny fossilised seahorses there must have been an ancient seabed. Where there’s an ancient seabed there’s limestone…and where there’s aged limestone there’s rich terra rossa soil and that is like gold to a vine!

Jaraman is the Aboriginal word for ‘Horse’ and the three tiny seahorses that are behind this story and feature on the label are a nod to the three previous generations of Taylors’ family winemakers.

Different (sea) horses for different (sea) courses. They’ve combined a-grade parcels of fruit from two of Australia’s best known Cabernet producing regions, Clare Valley (40%) and the Coonawarra (60%), to produce this rich and full bodied red with the classic Cabernet characters, blackcurrant and cassis, cedar and spice and all that jazz.

Drinking well now with a few years bottle age under its belt, but if you’re into tucking wines away in your cellar this will go as long as ten years.
