For a few years now we’ve been calling this guy a high flying Pinot at a rock bottom price! It’s what we like to call cheep-cheap-cheep – but only in price. There ain’t nothin’ else cheap about it. This is a wine that looks and tastes the part of a Pinot worth more.
The past few vintages of this label and have been swooping into wine shows here and overseas and coming away with shiny Golds and Silvers, it’s proving to be a super reliable Pinot at this price point that’s for sure. Using fruit from their Eyrie Vineyard in Marlborough’s Waihopai Valley, it’s barrel-aged for eight months before release.
A medium bodied, deliciously juicy, supple Pinot with all those good cherry, berry and plum flavours. A heap of value going on here for a Pinot at this price.
These guys are the proud sponsors of the Wingspan Birds of Prey Trust, which is why you’ll find the Karearea (NZ falcon) slapped on all of their labels.
