Johnny Q is John Quarisa (the winemaker) and he’s been around the traps making wine for some of the biggest names in the Aussie wine world before he kicked off his own cool little wine label. Johnny Q Shiraz
His motto is “you just can’t take life too seriously” – but you’d seriously have to be a mug to miss out on trying this one. Consistently over delivering for the money, the Johnny Q Shiraz 2018 vintage is no different. To be honest we reckon some of his competitors must wonder how he does it at such a keen price!
A Double Gold medal winner on the international wine circuit and a highly respectable 92/100 score from Campbell Mattinson reviewing for James Halliday’s Wine Companion. He said “Straight up it pours on the flavour and it keeps it going pretty well through to the finish. If you like them big and bold then you’ve got a live one here. Black/red berries, violets and resiny vanilla. An aftertaste of mocha. Substantial.”
