Leonardo Da Vinci – Italian painter, sculptor, architect, musician, scientist, mathematician, engineer, biologist, botanist and writer. But he wasn’t a wine maker. So it’s a bloody nice gesture that someone named a wine range after him!
This is the Da Vinci “i Capolavori” series which features famous artworks on the label – this one featuring “The Lady With an Ermine” and a portrait of Cecilia Gallerani. She was the favourite mistress of the (married!) Duke of Milan – tut tut!
And if you thought the label was a bit genius then you’ll be stoked to know what’s inside the bottle is too! This is pure Italian Pinot Grigio at its very best – pale in colour, super dry and super refreshing. Scoring 96/100 by Italy’s top wine critic Luca Maroni and making into the “2021 Yearbook of the Best Italian Wines by Luca Maroni” is a huge achievement, and this label has a track record of good scores with Maroni over the years.
Serve nicely chilled and pair with white meats and seafood – or kick things up a notch with the food match and pair with cod ravioli with butter and sage.
