Tohu (pronounced tor-who) are Aotearoa’s first Maori owned wine company. The label features the famous New Zealand Koru, that iconic symbol slapped on the side of every plane in the national Air NZ fleet. It’s kind of ironic because over the years they’ve served some of Tohu’s wines in lounges and on board to the business class wine sipping elite!
Tohu Rose is their very delicious, highly drinkable Rosé using Pinot Noir and Pinot Gris grapes from the sunny Nelson region.
The crew at Tohu describe this one nicely – “deliciously dry, this vibrant and fresh Rosé has a wonderfully long, luscious and persistent finish.”
What food you ask? Well, a full bodied Rosé like this will pair nicely with the usual salads, seafood (especially salmon, prawns and tuna) and white meats but it’ll also stand up to barbecued meats and dishes with a little bit of spice too.
