And in true Elephant Hill fashion they’ve crafted a wine that is simply stunning, receiving top marks from a handful of top NZ wine writers, including Sam Kim who gave it a whopping 95/100! Sam called it “Classically composed and gorgeously styled, the wine shows cassis, dark cherry, spicy oak, olive and subtle cocoa
characters on the nose. It’s concentrated and wonderfully flavoursome on the palate, while remaining firmly structured bby chalky tannins, leading to an impressively long sturdy finish.”

A blend from two of the three vineyards the Elephant crew own in Hawke’s Bay (Gimblett Gravels and the Bridge Pa) made up of 52% Merlot, 25% Cabernet Franc, 17% Cabernet Sauvignon and a 6% splash of Malbec.

Aged for 26 months in oak this is a true full bodied Bordeaux style red that has the legs to be left in the cellar for another decade or longer.
